Sweetgrass Basket Workshop – Continuing the Tradition

One of my fondest memories as a child was seeing my mother, grandmother, aunts and other family members sitting under the shade of a large oak tree during the spring and summer months enjoying great conversations and weaving sweetgrass baskets. I enjoyed watching them weave, each creating baskets of different shapes and sizes.– Barbara McCormick

Come take in Ms. Barbara’s favorite pastime and family tradition of over 40 years- sweetgrass basket weaving. Join her in a new conversation and leave with a wonderful piece of Charleston history.

Class price is $40/person and includes all supplies and light refreshments. Bring your own lunch or order from Corner House Café adjacent to our Garden Studio. Prompt registration is recommended as class-size is limited.
